The event "Towards a High-Level Dialogue on the Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG) - Technical Preparatory Meeting"  will take place from 29 to 30 April 2024, hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This event will be convened in hybrid mode at FAO headquarters (Red Room) in Rome, Italy, and online.
Water scarcity is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century, affecting food security, nutrition, biodiversity, and regional stability. Collective action by all stakeholders worldwide is imperative to address this pressing issue.
The event is meant to prepare for the High-Level Dialogue on WASAG which will take place during the World Food Forum -WFF in October 2024.
The meeting will aim at enhancing collaboration, mobilizing commitments, and agreeing on priorities and operational mechanisms for WASAG to maximize its impact, with a particular focus on engaging Member countries in the new member-led Steering Committee that will be formally established during the High-Level Dialogue on WASAG.

During the event, Guidelines on irrigation systems developed with the contribution of ENEA researchers will be presented.
