Abstract

Polyclonal antibodies were produced against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1-14 in the sequence of the N-terminal region of the sweet cherry strain of plum pox potyvirus (PPV-SwC). The antibodies specifically detected PPV-SwC but failed to recognize PPV-D, PPV-M and PPV-E1 Amar strains, thus confirming the usefulness of these antibodies for PPV-C detection.
