The global food market with increasing international food trade and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the global food supply chain brings many challenges, not least maintaining and assuring the integrity of foodstuff. Food safety, quality, authenticity and the detection of food fraud and its impact on consumer health, as well as the impact of climate change on food production and quality, are all essential topics that require the development of innovative and cutting-edge analytical approaches and a shared responsibility on all stakeholders in the food production chain.

The 2nd ISO-FOOD Symposium, will be held in Hotel Bernardin, Portorož, Slovenia, from April 24-26, 2023 and will bring together an interdisciplinary array of researchers, scientists, policy makers, and stakeholders to present advances in isotopic and chemical methods and to foster a lively and rewarding exchange of ideas and information. The organisers welcome prospective authors to submit new research papers and to share their valuable experiences with scientists and scholars from around the world.

The Symposium topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Food authenticity and traceability
  • Food safety and quality
  • New alternative food sources
  • Nanomaterials and nanotechnology
  • Foodomics
  • Food databases and semantics
  • Nutrition & Health
  • Risk assessment & risk management
  • Metrology in food
  • Quality and sources of water

Participants wishing to present their research findings should submit a short abstract for the consideration of the Scientific Committee. A maximum of TWO abstracts for each registered participant will be allowed and only one will be considered for oral communication.
